I started training under Master Bogdanski and Master Duethorn in 2007 and I have been an instructor since 2014. I currently hold the rank of Third Degree Black Belt. My favorite part of karate is sparring and learning different forms. I have gone to various tournaments around Connecticut as part of the Quest Martial Arts Tournament Team, and I have been performing in front of huge crowds as part of the Quest Martial Arts Demo team. I would have to say that my favorite part of teaching is putting a smile on a student's face and knowing that deep down that I positive;y influence student's inside and outside of karate.
Since starting in 2007, I have loved every single bit of martial arts. When I first started martial arts training, I always thought it was going to be like the Jackie Chan movies I watched when I was a kid; however, after a few classes, I knew it was not all about crazy flips and beating up bad guys. Now, I see martial arts as a way of life. It is something that helps me take a break from my life outside of karate and it is something that gives me a good workout from time to time. Since the very first class I took, I have changed tremendously. When I first started martial arts, I was the little chubby kid who was not very athletic and who was very shy. Now I am someone who loves to go for long runs and someone who loves teaching in front of classes varying in size and age.
Outside of Quest Martial Arts, I am a student a Wentworth Institute of Technology majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Applied Mathematics. I am a part of clubs such as Wentworth Environmental Collaborative, Wentworth Events Board, Wentworth Interned Radio + Entertainment, and many more. I love to go on long runs varying from 5 to 13 miles and I hope to run the Boston Marathon like my dad and grandfather. Lastly, when I’m not running, teaching, or taking class, I love to spend time with my family and hang out with my friends.
