My name is Tami Hopkins. I am currently a 3rd degree black belt. I started karate with KJN Bogdanski at 13 years old in 1989. I first started instructing at 16 years old. Throughout the years, karate has given me many opportunities as well as another “family”. The friends I have met I consider to be some of my closest including SBN Duethorn. I feel very fortunate to train under both KJN Bogdanski and SBN Duethorn. I would go nowhere else!
Karate has enabled me to travel to not only other states to compete, but other countries. I was also able to travel to Wales and compete in an international tournament where I earned 2 gold medals and a silver. I earned student of the year in 2014. I get to share my love of karate with my children. My son, Tyler, is 19 and currently a 2 nd degree black belt who is also an instructor when he is not attending Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. My daughter, Madison, is 16 and currently a 1 st degree black belt and instructor at Quest. I also have a 10-year-old son Cole, and a 27-year-old stepdaughter Megan. I am married to Gary Hopkins who supports my love of karate, understanding the amount of time and effort that is required especially while training for my master belt.
I work as an MRI technologist by day and karate instructor by night!
