A message from one of the Masters
Dear KJN and SBN:
I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for a powerful, inspiring, and beautiful graduation ceremony on Saturday.
It wasn’t just the ceremony, of course, it was the “Do”/”way” part of Tang Soo Do we saw so powerfully on display and in evidence on Saturday. And also the Moo Yei Do as well. So much respect.
It was beautiful to see how each candidate gave their whole heart to what they were doing. I know that most of them have been working with great intensity and focus for six months to get to this point. It was wonderful to see that process at work.
It was also great to see how fit everyone was, and how invested they were in helping each other, and moving things forward for everyone in a positive way.
I think that’s precisely the kind of world we want to build, and precisely the kind of martial arts system Hwang Kee had in mind as he developed Tang Soo Do. I have loved this school’s focus on character since the first day I had my daughter in to the school when she was 14. It has been an important part of what makes this school so special, along with two great Master Instructors too, of course.
I was so proud to be a part of everything, and deeply humbled by what I saw and experienced as well.
The final section of the program that featured family members speaking from the heart was beautiful. I can’t imagine anyone finding a better way to spend an hour on a Saturday afternoon than that. It was very powerful. Even better than Aruba. =:)
I also loved what you said at the end, SBN. I would have loved to listen in to what you said to the graduates before the event. You always have such great things to say.
At any rate, this was something I felt deeply and wanted to share with you both.
It is such an honor to be a part of your great school and to study and train and spend T and Th evenings with you.
Thank you for all that you do.
It is inspiring.
